I had one yesterday 12 pm 3rd baby dident do anything so far apart from move some stuff up there but still no baby I'm due tomorrow. He's definitely keeping us waiting. Haaa 😀
Didn’t work for me, there’s alot of controversy around whether they actually work at all, your body could just go into labour after, not necessarily the result of the stretch and sweep 🤷🏼♀️
First baby I ended up unexpectedly induced next day so Jury’s still out. Second baby I went into labour and gave birth same day. Third baby I was induced the next day 🤷🏻♀️
1st one didn’t work and for the second I did at 41w, I was in labour a few hours later
I went back every other day to have it done again, took 3 before I went in to early Labour x
Had two last week, now 40+2 didn’t seem to work for me. I lost my mucus plug for 3 days but that’s about it. Apparently it only works if baby is ready to be born! It’s worth the try if you’re fed up now like me 😂 just don’t build hopes up x
My baby was born within 12 hours of my sweep at 40+1. I was convinced I was nowhere near but the midwife said I was already 3 cm dilated and baby’s head was engaged, so the sweep was all it took to get things rolling! Started getting period type cramps within 10 minutes (but convinced myself that was just a common side effect of the sweep). It was only when my husband noticed the period cramps were coming and going quite regularly that I got my contraction timer app out and realised I was already 4 in 10! I’m not sure if I would have gone into labour anyway but the timing was coincidental if so… it was very uncomfortable though! Weigh up the discomfort of the sweep with the wait - I was *so* ready for baby to come out, the short term pain was worth it, but if I had a more comfortable pregnancy (without PGP) I think I’d wait a bit longer next time…
My nurse did it while doing an exam, she didn’t ask me or anything if I wanted it done. Regardless, it was uncomfortable af and didn’t do anything.
I think it depends if you're already dilated. I had it done before I was induced and it didn't work, my cervix was still completely closed though.
I went into labor the same day. Got it done in the AM and was at the hospital just before midnight. And she was born 8am the next day. I was 39 weeks 5 days of the sweep and she was born 39 weeks 6 days early AM
Didn’t work first time. Did it again at 41 weeks and went into labour the next evening.
