Food and illness

Does anyone’s toddler go completely off food when they have a cold? Mine has barely eaten anything in over a week now. Been to the doctors, it is just a cold and cough, doctor said his throat is a bit red so I get it, but how long is he going to eat nothing?? 😟

I’ve just gotten over this with my son and I had to just give in with foods he would eat, so things like toast, yoghurt, soft foods etc. Maybe try some yoghurt if they have a sore throat? It might help to sooth it x

Think if it as yourself being sick , you don’t normally have an appetite when your ill as an adult , it’s the same with a child. Offer in moderation things like fruit , fresh juice if possible, herbal tea like chamomile is good for the stomach and detox, vegetables soup or broth. You got this x

My daughter went 7 days on only breastmilk when she had a cold a couple of weeks ago. Woke up on day 8 and ate enough for 2 or 3 toddlers. He will eat when he's feeling better, try not to panic as long as he's not dehydrated 🥰
