8 month old suffering- but no teeth!

My little boy is eight months and was doing great with weaning…until this week! If we go near him with food, whether it’s placing food in front of him or spoon feeding he absolutely SCREAMS. His cheeks are bright red, dribble everywhere, gnawing on everything. What are parents doing in this situation? Still offering food? He’s formula fed now and thankfully is taking bottles okay. I know that before aged 1, food is just fun and exposure so I’m guessing he’ll just get what he needs from the formula. Tips welcome!

My boy was opposite, milk was a massive no and he only wanted tomato’s, strawberries, anything he could suck on. Have you tried the teething powder? It works great

My little girl is 7.5months and went through something very similar not long ago, she was doing really well with weaning, and then all of a sudden she decided she didn’t want to have anymore. It lasted about 10days. I was at a loss as to why she suddenly didn’t want any food, she wouldn’t even entertain the spoon going near her. I kept to her routine and offered her puree/finger foods every day even though she was refusing it, and her formula intake remained the same and then she just restarted again. She was teething very bad at the time, and her two bottom teeth made an appearance during the ‘food strike’ so I put it down to that :) I was told by our HV to just keep offering and they will pick it back up. Their little mouths/gums will be sore, and like adults, can go off their food x
