I just had my twins on Thursday and like you I kept hearing how much I should pack and what not. I stayed in hospital for 2.5 days and honestly didn't use most of the things I packed. Take a about 3 changes of clothes each preferably tiny and first sizes 2 bags of size zero nappies 2 packs of wipes And a few muslin cloths Check if your hospital provides formula if not take a some ready to feed formula just to make life a little easier than having to use the powder formula first day or 2.
Same as above We had back ups packed in the car and at my parents house so they were easily accessible but only took in 10 vests/ 10 baby grows Pack of size 0 nappies Water wipes Ready made formula Muslins I took more in for myself than the babies đ
This is amazing thank you all! Can i ask, did you have c sections? As that would typically be a longer stay? Donât know why I didnât think about having a spare bag in the car and at my parents who are local to hospital, genius. Yep Iâve got tiny and newborn stuff aswell.
@Mona congratulations hope you are doing well with your babies x
@Sibel thank you! And yes I had a c section and would've been out in 24 hours but one of my girls was jaundiced so we were forced to stay an extra 24 hours for her treatment. Honestly don't overthink it and don't stress too much you about spares and what not but if you feel you're gonna be more comfortable that way go ahead and do it
I had my twin via C-Section was only in for a night went home the next evening so for me I definitely over pack but rather be over prepared right đ
Heya lovely, so good youâre looking to pack now as to be honest I didnât and went into labour 35 weeks and it was a nightmare! Anyway my baby nest .co.uk you c a build your own bag. especially in the first day they can still get cold so you will still need a hat, gloves a vest and sleep suit as they can get cold even in summer. Be careful about swaddles as they can overheat so just make sure you check their neck or back that they are not getting too cold! I would say a total of 3 outfits each. 1 for when they are born. This will get dirty and covered in blood etc so you will need to change them. 2nd outfit to change them into as the first one will get dirty. 3rd outfit incase they pee through their clothes. I had to change my baby as he peed through the nappy but that could be due to me not knowing how to correctly put it on. Then if you want a spare 4th incase your in hospital for longer. A full outfit is: 1 sleepsuit, 1 vest, 1 hat (gloves and bibs can be reused)
@Ada hi Ada this is so helpful thank you! I wasnât going to pack sleep suits initially as the wards are usually so warm and I thought about a hot day/ overheating but you are so right, they are colder when they are so new đ„č il also check out the website :)
My advice would be if you have family that can pop home for youâŠ. Bring enough for say 72 hours and then if itâs looking like a longer stay or youâre getting through what youâve brought faster (I was in for a week) they can grab you extras/take dirties away. I always allow two vests a day and two baby grows per twin as a minimum. I also had two sizes in the bag as twins are often small! (Tiny baby was big even though their weights were good). Sorry if that was waffling haha message me if you want more information on what I packed âșïž
