Over 40 chances of pregnancy

I’m 40 years old with a three year old and 7 month old. My husband and I both agree we are done but secretly I am not 100% done in my heart. However he continues to be careless when it comes to protection. My cycle hasn’t returned since I am still BF. Anyone over 40 with a baby on baby on the way? I think he actually thinks it’s not possible I’m just curious to hear other stories out there. I’m grateful either way for my two babies just curious others experiences.

I had a surprise pregnancy at 45 and gave birth at 46. This was after I was told that I was unable to have kids. So it’s definitely possible!

I’m 40 this week and pregnant after a 17 year gap from my first 🤣

I got pregnant at 42. A lot depends on your egg count and egg quality and his sperm quality which all diminish with age. But it is totally possible to get pregnant at 40. You should make sure you are taking postnatal vitamins with folic acid incase you happen to get pregnancy. That’s what the obgyn recently told me.

I had my first at 40 and second now at 44. Both are healthy.

My gorgeous 4 month old baby girl was conceived after one try at the age of 40 and a half. I also had a very easy pregnancy. What can happen around 40 is that your fertility peaks due to being perimenopausal - this just means your body knows it has have a limited time to make a baby making you more likely to conceive than not, at a time when you are coming to the end of your reproductive years. One other thing to mention is that over 33% of all babies in 2022 were born to mothers over 35. Fun fact for your husband perhaps!

@Rebecca same. I was told my body had gone into menopause at 39.

I not long turned 40 an I am 5 and a half months pregnant with number 6 honestly for me personally this pregnancy is a bit of a struggle and it's really taking a lot out of me some days but I am so greatful to be doing it one last time

I’m 40 on Friday and currently 33 weeks. I started IVF and didn’t respond so had to abandon and ended up pregnant with my one mature egg. I have really low egg count and amh. We really didn’t think it would happen and it did! 💗 Also one of my work colleagues has just had a baby at 46!

It's definitely possible and just because you're breastfeeding it doesn't mean you can't/won't get preggo 😅

@laura that's amazing congrats to you both 💙❤️

@Natasha thank you! She’s a little miracle 💗

I got pregnant at 42. Currently 14w along. This also my first. I started prenatals and folic acid early. I also did and still do fertility acupuncture which is great.

I am 43 and pregnant with my 1st. Definitely a good idea to start folic acid

I got pregnant with my first and only so far at 41. My fertility doctor told me I wouldn't be able to conceive with my own eggs, but I did! Ultimately, we got pregnant the old fashioned way. It's definitely possible.

There was an article that came out recently that said that for the first time in human history more women were having babies in their 40s than teens.

I’m 44 this year and have a 2yr old and 6mth old.

My beautiful baby girl is 6 months old and I turned 45 in February

I know loads of people who’ve had babies in their early 40s. It gets harder after age 43. There was one book I read and they said about 50% of people in their early 40s can get pregnant. But as others have said, that doesn’t always happen and some people definitely go into early menopause.

Had my daughter on my 40th birthday and now 43 and desperately trying for another
