Throwing food on floor from high chair

My little boy is 16 months old, and he’s constantly just throwing his food on the floor. I’ve just given him some toast and a couple bits of sausage that I was having and he took a small bite of each and just threw them. I’m trying to say “no that’s naughty” and make him aware that we don’t throw food but upon saying this he just giggles in my face. How are people redirecting this behaviour because now he’s had no breakfast and I don’t want to give in and give him yoghurts afterwards because then he’ll see it as a reward.

We just say no food stays on your plate/highchair etc and then ignore it if she carries on and then take the food away. Can’t say it’s stopping it happening but I find if we say no too much she thinks it’s a game. Sorry no real help from me here!

@N L all good, just don’t want him having nothing! They can be hard work sometimes can’t they🤣

I've still got 2 plates on the go at moment limited how much give incase goes on floor

I found when I stopped reacting he stopped chucking it . Now I know when he starts to throw things it’s because he is full and has had enough not to get a reaction.
