Weaning

My daughter is approaching 4 months old, she has CMPA and is on Aptamil Pepti 1 Milk. What are your must haves for weaning? I’m talking brands, high chairs, items, recipe books etc. that I should get ready in preparation. Thank you!

Piccolo organic baby pouches have some really good dairy free options and hipp organic baby rice also Amazon have a dairy free weaning chart

my son adores alpro yoghurts☺️

Get one of the food dummies with ice cube mould. I got one on TikTok shop for less than £5 and my LG loves it. It’s been a nice way to introduce purées whilst still letting LO feed herself

Be careful with soya as mine reacts worse to that than cows milk! Those allergies can come hand in hand for some reason. I would take allergens seriously and do a tiny bit of one allergen a day then increase the amount over time. Ella’s kitchen do a lot of dairy free products, some aren’t advertised as dairy free but are. We use cow&gate dairy free yoghurts too. I know a lot of people make their own purees but I just never found the time so used pouches and then made my own finger foods for her from about 6.5/7 months. The first stages are easy as it’s usually very few ingredients, when they get older it gets trickier but we just use dairy free butter, cheese and cheese spread. We use oat milk in foods and cereals because soya milk gave her a terrible reaction x

@Marissa hi yes thank you! Her dad has multiple allergies including soya so I’m on the lookout for that one as well as many others. I’m going to try her on the milk ladder as well as he outgrew his milk allergy through that. Thank you for the suggestions of pouches x
