High BP no other signs of pre-eclampsia

I have just been to the hospital for a growth scan and my blood pressure was really high. I have no protein in my urine so haven’t been admitted to hospital but have been given medication. The doctor was basically saying this could be a precursor to pre-eclampsia. Has anyone else had this and it been fine and not progressed? I also don’t really want to get stuck on BP medication forever 😣

I've been on BP meds since 16 weeks as my BP was high but no other symptoms the whole way through. I'm 34 weeks now. Never had an issue before being pregnant. I think once you've had baby then you just have a few follow up appointments at the doctor's to monitor and then as long as they are happy for you to come off then you can be eased off them again, but I'm not 100% sure! Pregnancy can raise BP anyway and pre-eclampsia can rear its head in the last trimester so they are probably just being extra cautious.

I was like that last week, was in for an appointment and my blood pressure was through the roof, ended up in triage and then got sent home. But was admitted on Sunday due to high blood pressure again that wouldn’t come down even with medication🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m now on medication twice daily and it’s helping keep it stable, they said to me they’re watching me for pre eclampsia but it’s most likely gestational hypertension that should correct itself once he’s born. But I’m now definitely having a consultant led birth and if it becomes unstable they will induce me early x

Thank you. I ended up being admitted overnight as the drugs struggled to bring my BP down enough but now it’s stabilised they are talking about letting me go

Same thing happened with me on Sunday, now I have bi weekly blood pressure profiles just to make sure they’re all good! Glad it’s stabilised x
