Not eating

Hey lovelies, my little one will be 2 in June and has completely went off all her food! She used to be a great eater but it’s just gradually gotten worse over the past few weeks and now we are at the point where she hardly eats anything. For example today she has had a banana, a custard cream, a kids wafer thing and a tiny bit of pizza, and I’m classing today as a good day! She used to eat everything that was on her plate! It started off where she wasn’t eating her dinner and I thought it was because I was trying her with new foods but then even when I gave her food that I knows she likes she wouldn’t eat it either. I started saying ‘if you don’t eat it you don’t get anything else’ and it worked for a few days but now she’s going to bed not having dinner because she won’t eat it. In the mornings she’s understandably hungry but eats a hunt but if toasted and that’s it. Am I doing anything wrong? I’m still offering her 3 meals a day plus snacks she’s just not eating it, do I go to the doctors or wait it out. Please help

Mine has been like this for the past few weeks. I make sure he has a good breakfast (one weetabix with a whole banana mashed up in it, jersey milk and his vitamin drops). He’s started to have half a piece of toast or a couple of rich tea biscuit fingers as a snack. Lunch he refuses so usually has a bottle of milk 🫣 Mid afternoon he gets peckish and has some fruit like mango or blueberries. Dinner he will often reject but I persist so he has a few mouthfuls before wanting milk and bed!

@Harriet that’s the thing she won’t even have breakfast I’ve tried sitting her at the table and I sit with her I’ve tried leaving it out so she can play and eat I’ve tried eating with her I’ve tried leaving it and walking away she just won’t eat it’s so hard xx

I make a smoothie in the morning now, banana, raspberries (frozen), pineapple or mango, spinach, Greek yogurt, milk, 2 tbsp oats, his vitamins and he loves it, at least I know he’s had something when he throws his crumpet on the floor 😂

Yeah every toddler goes through this stage

@Lucy mine used to eat crumpets now he just throws them on the floor too, reminds me of that TV show where kerry is like mum where's my holes in my crumpet or something and her mums like turn it over 🤣

That's where the saying living off air comes from No need to go GP unless you're concerned she is loosing weight and not healthy despite not eating

@Harriet That sounds exactly like my boy.
