Leaving hospital outfit

After giving birth will I still fit into my maternity trousers or will they be too baggy? Did you just wear pj/nightie when on ward or did you wear proper clothes at any point? Ta

I could still wear my maternity jeans for a couple of months tbh 😂 I just wore PJs and nighties. I had an emergency c section and was there for 3 nights. Came home in a floaty dress as thought that'd be a safe option. X

@Sally I did the same, my maternity clothes were roomy and fitted comfortably. I wore pjs in hospital and stayed 3 days. Came home in a long Nightie and flip flops.

Yep wore my maternity shorts and oversize tee. Definitely could wear them for a while. I had a c-section. But some of my friends were nearly back flat with a natural birth.

I wore my pjs around the ward & most of the other mums do too. Nobody really cares what you’re wearing, we’re all just tired 😂 Only time I wore day clothes were to go home in, even then I put a hoody on over my nighty 😂 I never wore maternity jeans but my leggings I went up a size are huge on me now, if that helps 😂

My maternity trousers are the only thing I wear 4 weeks post pregnancy. I only wore pjs and nighties in the hospital and I also came home in pjs despite having a “going home outfit”

I wore an adult nappy and a baggy PJs wrapped in my dressing gown. Honestly, comfort before anything else for me especially after a CS.

I ended up wearing same outfit I went in with. The outfit I packed was similar - comfort over everything. I stayed in for a day. Planned c-section. Wore a nightie that allowed skin to skin

My maternity leggings would have definitely still fit after birth. I wore a button down nightie to give birth and then pyjamas on the ward. I would recommend dark pyjamas because of postpartum bleeding. I then left the hospital in a tracksuit which is sized up from my pre pregnancy size x

I ordered some little night gowns from Boohoo for both the labour and for after as well as some button down pyjamas. Wear something cotton and cool because post natal and labour wards are hot as hell! Going home I wore a baggy jumper and leggings. I left 32h after giving birth (I had an emergency delivery so they kept me for longer than I would have liked) and left around 6mo pregnant size. What I will say for going home clothes is bring a pair of extra compression stockings just in case they don’t give you any. You will want them if you want to fit into any of your shoes because fluid retention makes swelling on day 1 a bit of a nightmare

Thanks, all these responses have been really helpful 👍

I’m leaving in my PJ’s. No one is doing the catwalk in hospital.

I just wore my pjs home xx

I went home in my nighty and flip flops lol

@Nina right. After giving birth, it’s no time to be planning a going home outfit. Sleepless nights for the next 3 months.
