UK based housekeeping costs
I’m expecting my second baby soon, based on my first PP experience I’m trying to prepare myself the best way I can. One of the things on my list is to save for someone to come in and deep clean at least once a week. I’ve got a 3 bedroom house, fairly small kitchen and bathroom, getting quotes hasn’t been easy. Does anyone have an idea on how much it’ll cost?

Hi I'm in Scotland and while not a deep clean I have biweekly 2hr cleaning service. I'm in 3 bed 2 bath house and I find it sufficient for upkeep. Deep clean would probably be 3hrs. I'm paying 22/hr
Maybe you are finding it difficult because you are using the word "deep". Deep cleaning services are usually booked at the end of tenancies, they last for about 6-8 hours and they charge more per hr. A regular cleaning service would book a client per hour, usually for a minimum of 2-3 hours depending on the agency/person and how well they clean depends on the cleaner... How much they charge depends on your area. We have seen it goes anywhere between £15-25 per hr in our area.

Where are you? I’m in London and pay for a 3 hour clean (3 floor, 4 bed, 2 bath) and it’s £20 per hour. That’s hoovering, moping, dusting, changing bed, deep bathroom clean, scrubbing kitchen, cleaning glass. I can customise it sometimes and ask her to leave the beds and help with laundry or clean the microwave. Same here, just had my second and needed that postpartum help after a section and juggling two. A godsend xx
