The advice regarding no new foods is really strange, and I'd get a second opinion. One thing I really wish I would have done as soon as I could, would be to try all allergens (one at a time) instead of being scared of them flaring her eczema 🤦♀️
hey! yeah, that sounds super tough, poor little one 😔, and tbh, I've heard of some docs saying to avoid new allergens until 1, but it can be confusing. for skin stuff, maybe try something like aquaphor or a fragrance-free lotion? hope you find something that works! xx Just looked it up on the 'Heal App' and here’s what it says: "It sounds like you're navigating a challenging situation with your little one. Given the reaction to oats and the presence of eczema, it’s wise to follow your GP's advice regarding avoiding new foods until she’s one, especially if they might trigger an allergic reaction. For skin products, look for those specifically labeled as hypoallergenic and free from oats. Brands like Cetaphil and Vanicream offer gentle options that are often recommended for babies with eczema. Additionally, using fragrance-free moisturizers can help soothe her skin without causing irritation. Have you noticed any specific triggers for her eczema besides oats?
Hey, We're 6 months and had an oat reaction worse than that but self settled. She's also had a reaction to banana. That doesn't sound right re-food, I'd ask to speak to another GP to check, no-one here knows your little ones health but I'd take a punt it meant allergy foods. We've been advised to strip back to local and seasonable veg, fruit & fresh baked bread and slow the process down. Something new every 3 days, nothing that may be an allergy for a couple of months
