This is fucking nasty but I’m panicking. I forgot to clean out my carpet cleaner after using it and I come to my bedroom to find it with maggots in it!! What the heck do I do! I’m disgusted and idk wtf to do I don’t even wanna touch it

Woops! Well, I would put gloves on and get a trash bag and dump everything in there and then clean it out maybe with some hot water and soap? Then bleach or something. What a pain I’m sure that’s so awful!
Do you have a steam cleaner? My husband got us one because my cat had tapeworms when I was pregnant and I freaked out. It kills a lot of bugs/eggs. We’ve since used it for loads of stuff, it was worth the money. I’d take your carpet cleaner outside, empty it, rinse, and then steam the heck out of it. I’d then take the steam cleaner to whatever you have used the carpet cleaner on for added peace of mind. Sorry not sorry that shit would be right in the trash can! Fuck that I don’t do smells or bugs and I can’t even imagine what that smelled like My husband did it once. Never had bugs from it but he cleaned it when he had covid because he couldn’t smell. I gagged from the smell and I was nowhere near where he was cleaning it

That's the thing, I think if flies get sucked up or particles of food could grow mould, bacteria in there, I try and clean out my things frequently because of that reason. Once it's cleaned it's all good, also clean out the nozzles and hoses too. Really simple.
100% get your husband to clean it. I wouldn’t go near them, I just couldn’t, that would be my worst nightmare‼️
Yikes. Thanks for the reminder to clean mine. I used it last weekend and had to put it away in a rush and forgot to clean it 😩

What on earth did you last clean for it to have maggots in it?! I used mine at Xmas, I just rinsed the container out and it doesn't have maggots in!
