Worries

I am a 1st time mom and I live rural and don't have a car. For example I have a few appointments on Thursday in the city 1 hr from me, I will be securing a ride for. The fetal medicine clinic wants me to come Monday as well for a different appointment and I asked if it can be done on the 17th they said yes but they really pushed me to book sooner, as the OB wants it before my appointment on Thursday. I'm worried that if I don't do as I'm told or I take a little longer to get things done (due to traveling issues to city) when I have baby they'll call child services and my baby will be taken. I know that seems far fetched but It took me awhile to get into an OB since I've recently moved provinces and medical hadn't yet been switched over until i was about 22 weeks. I've heard stories about if you don't go to certain Dr appointments they'll inform child services upon birth. Like I know baby is growing good and healthy and I've gotten all shots I need, and I'm on proper meds, I just stress. I'm not sure what I'm looking for,

Don’t let you mind drive you crazy. It is all good.

Im in Alberta, I know women that haven't gone to any appointments due to the fact they were not giving birth in Alberta. a friend of mine travelled back home to NB to give birth. She had her initial Dr appt, "wow you're pregnant, congratulations!" And she just informed the Dr that she lived a hour away from the hospital and didn't plan on attending other appointments. Don't get me wrong shes very au natural if ya know what I mean and the Dr just told her that if she thinks something could be wrong (bleeding, no movement, etc) then to please come in and she agreed to that. So maybe when you go in just talk to your doctor? No harm in letting them know that you're doing your best but sometimes they'll need to cater to your schedule not the other way around.

If you let the doctor know what your situation is and show you're doing your best, I'm sure you can figure it out together. I had extreme fatigue issues where getting out of the house in the last trimester was a huge ordeal, so they clustered my various appointments together. Like I got blood drawn, then right to ultrasound, then enough time for lunch and the results to come in, then drs appointment, and I could do it all on one trip. But point being, let them know why you're having issues and how you're working with them etc you should be fine. That all being said, if it's at all possible it would be good to get a car if you're that far out from medical care. Having the ability to just get up and go to an urgent care or er at 3 am with little to no warning may become important. I fully recognize that getting a license while pregnant is probably not gonna be a thing (if you don't have one that is) but having access to transportation is a very good idea to secure that far out. Just something to think about.

We are trying to secure a vehicle, things are tough money wise rn but trying to save for one for sure.

Please don't stress yourself about this, as being pregnant can be hard enough. There are No requirements for pregnancy appointments that I'm aware of. Unless they have already found something they are concerned about with baby's development then you should be good to fit things in when you can, and If you want
