Baby monitor for 2 (toddler and baby)

I’m due my second baby in August and am after some baby monitor suggestions that will cover 2 rooms. Are there any out there that has 1 parent unit / app and multiple cameras? Thank you!x

VTimes Extra Camera, Baby Monitor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C57ZND4K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share We use this one it’s non WiFi so less likely for hacking and affordable you can order as many separate pieces as you like. We have 3 cameras and 2 monitors one that stays in our bedroom and the other is in the living room just easier for us and you can connect all cameras to each monitor and put a rotation mode so it cycles through the cameras and we can watch both our babies sleeping

(Also both my husband and I work in cybersecurity, no one is going to hack your baby monitor, wifi is fine!)

@Allie this might be a silly question but as the Nanit doesn’t come with a parent unit, how does it work with alerts on the app? Do you have to have the app open at all times?

@Esmeralda thank you. Like the idea of being able to have as many cameras as needed. I have a vtech at the moment though and I find it quite basic - I can’t even zoom on mine. Might be the model I chose in a hurry after our maxicosi one stopped working, mind 😅. With the parent units, can you split screen rather than have the views on rotate?

We have a babysense and I'm pretty sure you can have 4 cameras linked to the same parent unit. The initial box came with 2 and we haven't needed more yet but bought it knowing it can expand. We've found it really straightforward and good to use

Another vote for Babysense it’s brilliant

@Chloe no unfortunately that’s a feature it doesn’t have it does zoom and it’s easy to move the camera around from the monitor but no split screen

@Chloe not silly at all! You don’t have to have it open as it’s an app so you can set notification preferences and you can also set ‘sensitivity’ for both sound and movement. So for my toddler he sleeps through and we have it pretty high to only send a notification if he’s like properly crying. For the baby I have it set a but more sensitive bc I don’t want to potentially miss her waking up

@Allie thank you! So what would the alert be like - like a text message ping (can’t think of a better phrase!), or can you actually hear the crying?

@Rachel I’m being spammed babysense on instagram so I will give it a look, thank you!

@Esmeralda ok good to know, thank you!

We have a hello baby, they just recently sent us a mount for free with a purchase of another camera. It came with the parent unit but I don’t use the second one. I use one parent unit and have added the second camera, both my kids stay in the same room but I like to see them both since the oldest is a rough sleeper. The camera allows me to auto cycle between seeing them both without having to touch it again, it also allows me to still hear them with the camera off but hit the on button once instead of holding it.

I personally like it better with my phone locked and just the notifications because it helps me leave her if she’s just moving or making noise a tiny bit rather than like, I need to go in and soothe or feed

@Allie thank you 🙏 v helpful!

We have the infant optics monitor because we didn’t want a wifi-enabled one, and I plan on getting a second camera for it.

I have the safety first monitors and sound machines- each baby will have their own monitor and sound machine I can control from my app (as well as my boyfriend) and honestly it’s super convenient!
