Getting ready

Is anyone else’s child a nightmare to get ready? Mine will not just let me get him changed and he resists it ALL THE TIME. I end up shouting at him and it the most stressful time of the day. Any tips would be appreciated

Our boy hates it too (most days anyway). We usually put the TV on for him when he has his breakfast and then I change him when he's occupied with eating and distracted. Otherwise we try to wait until he wants something and we then say yes, but only after he gets changed. Takes a while sometimes but usually works x

@Jprc yeah we do that too, I wish he would just get ready without having to be bribed 😂 but I suppose I’ll have to wait until he’s older for that. This age is so hard 😣

I 100% agree. I hate to wish time away but it's such a challenging age. Everything is always a no and the tantrums 🫣

We make things a game when our kids don't cooperate. "Uh-oh! You can't do this, can you? I bet you can't!" Or a race... things like that. Make a challenge and they sometimes get excited to do it or show you they can do it

I have this problem too and it’s been like it for months and months!! Getting out the house by 7:30 in the mornings for work is bloody hard work 😂😂

My little girl wants to get herself ready and won't let me help. Ends up walking round with tops on back to front and all kinds x

We had 2 legs in one short leg this morning ha

My son is the same he says “no” or runs off. If I’m holding a nappy or fresh clothes he will take them out my hands and throw them. He really struggles with routine and getting ready and out and about at times. Once we are ready and out he’s fine but it’s the build up that he doesn’t tolerate. It’s probably just a phase they will grow out off hopefully x

My little girl has a similar problem with an addition that she’s only wearing 3 clothes of repeat. So god forbid they are dirty and in wash (which they inevitably are!)

@Katie yep, my boy is the same. He loves going out but it’s just getting him ready that’s the problem

@Kriti Bhandari Bhargava oh god 🤦🏼‍♀️ I can’t imagine how difficult that is. Your washing machine must be on constantly!

@Chloé Collier yea! Sadly it is.
