I dunno how to stay off my phone when baby’s awake I play with him all morning then when he gets whiny and he wants to do his own thing I let him play about my living room and I sit on my phone I feel like such a bad mam that I’m not always paying as much attention as I could be. His attention span is like 10 mins if that then he wants to do something else I just dunno how to keep him interested he’s 1

I agree with Lottie! We also give our son very little screen time so because the TV isn’t on it’s natural to look at your phone a little more. When they’re playing independently don’t be too hard on yourself and take breaks! As long as you’re alert with them when they want your attention and you’re playing with them from time to time, you’re a good mum! 🤍
I'm on my phone regularly during the day but I don't ignore baby when he needs something and most of the time he plays independently ☺️

His attention span sounds normal. I don’t love being on my phone lots in front of my daughter either but the reality is we are. We are a technological generation and their generation will be even more so at this rate. I think it’s just very important to put phones down when they’re clearly after our attention and to try be on them as little as possible but sometimes it can’t be helped and 10mins of you on your phone while he plays is fine! You’re not a bad mum!
