Is the trap just apple cider vinegar? I use sugar, apple cider vinegar and dish soap with water and that does the trick
They have to be reproducing somewhere and consuming something. I would deep clean one room at a time (there going to congregate around their food source so clean where whey appear most, first), scrub the trash and bleach the sink.
Get a venus fly trap or some other carnivorous plant. They’re neat!
If you have houseplants check them!
Put a little wine in a small glass and leave it out. They will all go in
I put a few small dishes out with apple cider vinegar and dish soap. I also gave the area they were in a deep, thorough clean.. Poured vinegar and hot (not boiling) water down the drains every morning and evening. Wash your bins, and remove food scraps and rubbish every night. Replace tea towels and dish cloths each night. Wash fruit and veg and store in the fridge, or somewhere air tight. Honestly, I've just seen you have a 1 year old. Check EVERYWHERE, under the sofa, everything. They have to be producing somewhere and you never know what little hands have dropped somewhere. I found an apple core in my step sons toy drawer once. Kids get everywhere!
have you checked the inside of your bin incase there’s any bin juice or something which has leaked?
They do come from the drains 😬 little glass with a bit of ACV and a cover with holes poked in it will trap them but ultimately the drains are the root cause
Have you got any plants? They like damp areas to reproduce we had nightmare with them last spring. Gnat paper for plants and window stickers from amazon were a godsend, it was a gross 2 weeks of changing fly paper but it did the trick
Hey all. I’ve done all the tips and tricks like leaving ACV out, they don’t care for it. Poured hot water down the drains. Poured beach down the drains. I’ve deep cleaned the living space which is where they keep appearing (as mentioned I’ve cleaned under furniture and appliances, mopped all floors). I hoover anytime my daughter eats anything. I’ve checked all her toy boxes and crevices like radiators etc for rotten snacks. I have NO house plants and we don’t have a bin inside the house either everything gets taken out directly. The only thing I can imagine is causing them is the drain but as I’ve said, I regularly clean the sink and dry the area as well as use bleach and insect killer. I’ve also noticed that they appear more when I have the window open, I don’t know why though because that area is throughly clean! Super stressed!
Have you poured boiling hot water down the sink?
