Also to add my son had 5 hearing tests and we couldn’t get through them he had a meltdown every single time. But I know there’s nothing wrong with his hearing. We’re also waiting for speech and language because my sons non verbal
@Sam I know going to sound so stupid but how do I push if that makes sense I’ve been told there wating list for all of these appoitments I only had the health care Vistor round last week e.c.t. Iam sorry just feel really on my own with all of this as not getting much or if any support form my partner (my daughters dad) so doing it all on my own and feeling very ovweelmed and stressed
@Sam yeah my daughter is also none-verbal to 🥰 we’ve been told if they carnt get hearing test done the 3rd time round they will put her to sleep
It doesn’t sound silly at all I’m also new to this my sons only 3 but I’d keep calling hv and ask where you are up to with getting an assessment etc you want her to get seen asap so she can get the support she needs and deserves. Aw that’s not good that he’s not supported by him because if she is autistic you’re going to need each other. You can speak to me anytime it’s lonely when you don’t know someone who’s going through the same thing
@Sam aw thankyou I would really appricate that thankyou 🥰 the health care Vistor came round on the 9th April 2025 and she has refferd us to speech and langue and portage and she also said she will keep an eye on what’s going on with patch team 🙂 but do you think it would be a good idea to give her call ? Evan know she only came round on the 9th April to ask if she can push for the refferls
@Sam to be fair I am lucky enough to be stay home mum so he works full time and he’s also trying to build his own business as well so I don’t think he means to make me feel that way as I think work and building his own business is I primary focus 🥰
This is how our journey went we expressed our concerns to our health visitor and at our sons 2 year assessment she agreed she thought he could have autism. She referred us to the paediatric dr but said that would take some time. In that time my son had several assessments from different people, it’s good that you have her name on the list for nursery because they are a massive help (they have been to us) Anyway after all my sons assessments over a year the dr appointment came, she also assessed him told us she needed evidence from the other assessments he’d had and nursery. She called us back a few months later and she diagnosed his autism we’ve also applied for his EHCP through nursery so hoping it gets accepted, if it doesn’t I’ll be appealing because there’s no way he’s going mainstream school. Honestly you have to push because they try to delay you as much as possible me and my son’s dad wouldn’t stop until they agreed to see my son because we want him to get the best support.
