My daughter will be four months on the 19th as well! I just got some stage 1 baby food to introduce to her, only a few tiny spoon fulls just to see if her tongue reflex is working well. If he’s showing interest and has good neck strength while sitting up (supported) he should be ready to be introduced!

I would consult your pediatrician… My daughter is 3.5 months and is looking at our food but I assume she’s just interested in what we’re doing. I’ve always heard 6 months is the time for solids

we got the green light to start solids at our 4 month visit this past week, my son sits almost completely independently, licks his lips when we eat and will reach for it and puts everything and anything in his mouth! our dr saw all these and gave us the go ahead! as long as babe had really good neck control, ask ur pediatrician if you can start!

My baby is 4 months and I have started on purées. 6+ months for solids.

I had no idea you could start solids at 4 months. I thought it was strictly 6 months my baby turns 4 months on the 19th as well. He’s not even sitting yet though. Interesting.

@Samantha there’s stages on the baby food, if they have good neck control and can sit up while supported you can start testing their tongue reflex to see if they are able to eat the first stage!

Ask your doctor but usually it's recommended to start solids at 6 month! (Ours gives us the go ahead on oatmeal at 4 months but I wait). Hands in the mouth is a developmental milestone! They're still learning their own body! I suggest doing some research in the meantime on how you want to introduce food to your little! There's a lot to consider!

My second baby was just like this and we got the ok from his pediatrician to start solids at 4 months old. He’s almost 2 years old and loves ALL food.

Noooo, do some research on why you shouldn't start weaning early
