It’s an incentive to get parents back into employment. Without formal childcare, many parents wouldn’t be able to work, so it aims to cover some of the cost and make it more affordable so that they can x
@Gemma @Melissa thank you for your replies...I'm just so confused because we're eligible for flying start and my little girl has the 12.5 hours a week at a playgroup....but does this mean that when she's 3 she'll be eligible to nothing because I'm a sahm until she starts school?
Yes sadly. Im a nursery manager and unless both parents work unfortunately not entitled. Unless on sick/maternity but still employed. Feel free to message if need any help
She’ll definitely be eligible for something the term after her third birthday. I’m pretty sure for the vast majority of Wales this will be half a day in a school nursery. It certainly is where I live. But I know some local authorities have slightly different preschool set-ups and some even provide whole day childcare. But yes she’ll definitely be entitled to at least 12.5 hours the term after her third birthday x
Yes like what Melissa said she will be entitled the term after her 3rd birthday for school nursery xx
Yes both parents needs to be working min of 16 hours per week
