Breastfeeding during nighttime

Hello there! My baby is 4 weeks old and I have been waking her up every 4 hours to feed her. I feed her at 23:00 and then I am the one who wakes her up at 03:00 but it seems that she can manage without a feed at 03:00. I have a hard time waking her up and I feel that she can sleep more without needing a feed. My question is can I stop waking her up? She gained more that her birth weight and she used to have long jaundice which is now resolving (we have been discharged). When have you stopped waking your little ones for a feed?

My baby started sleeping longer stretches at night (about 6 hours) around 4 weeks old. I would just let your baby just sleep and see how long she goes before needing to feed in the night. As long as she is gaining weight and has plenty of wet and poopy diapers letting her sleep is fine šŸ˜Š My daughter is almost 3 months now and sleeps 8 or 9 hours so 99% of the time I get a full night's sleep!

My baby was exactly the same. With the jaundice, I was told until it was completely cleared up to keep waking and feeding every four hours. Itā€™s much easier for them to flush it from their system when they have energy and food.

He never lost any weight from birth, so I never woke him in the night. He even had jaundice for 10 weeks but the midwives told me to stop regardless. Iā€™d def stop waking now :)

As long as sheā€™s above her birth weight & gaining you donā€™t need to wake her x

She was born 3650 and she is currently 4400 (weighted last week)

@Ness did they monitor the jaundice until it was within the normal levels or did they just discharged you? Cause her jaundice level was 140 and they were happy with the trend
