You’ll get 15 hours of funding, from the start of the term after he turned 3. X
Contact the pre-school you’re interested in. They’ll sort it all out, it’s fairly simple as it’s a universal entitlement, so you don’t have to prove anything to get it. Some will give 15 hours, some will charge an hourly top up fee. The one we are looking at charges £4 an hour for each funded hour and £10 for each non funded hour.
You'll get the 15 yours funded no matter your circumstances. I don't work but my husband does and my son is starting the term after he starts 3 (January) our hours are stretched through the year so we get around 11 or 12 hours paid per week but then have to pay for the extra weeks. We luckily get 10% military discount on those hours. Every nursery/pre school is different so it's worth finding a preschool you like, have them show you round, then ask about how they do there funding. Best of luck ❤️
Thankyou so much for the responses they’re really helpful, I only want him to go 2 days a week anyway so hopefully it will be straight forward! 🥰
You will qualify for 15 hours which school preschools usually offer as 2.5days or 5 mornings or 5 afternoons. You will apply directly to the school so ring the schools you are interested in and arrange visits. Feel free to message with any questions.
