First passport

You will need to send off the birth certificate as evidence so I’d probably wait till you get it back. The application doesn’t take long though. I applied just over a week ago and it’s being delivered today 🙂

It’s the number on the bottom left of the certificate that the passport office need. So if you’re being issued a fresh birth certificate (which will have a different number) then you’ll need to wait, or if they are amending the certificate you have then you’ll keep the same number. I’d give them a call to check with them - I called mine (although different area) and they were helpful x

I'd wait till you have it back because like others have said you need it as evidence so they can do their passport. Doesn't take long. I send the birth certificate off special D and it updated online the next day.

I would wait for the new one and from start to finish getting the first passport in may experience was quick, 8 days from applying online. I took my sons photo myself, just lay him on a white sheet, as facial expression for a babies passport they not strict with, so he has a beautiful smile in his.

I had a court order with my original birth certificate and a correction notice but they wouldnt issue one, i had to file for an emergency one, which they gave me due to circumstances but i had to turn in with all of the new/corrected things. I was stuck out of country though i doubt i would have gotten one if i was just chillin at home.
