Labor prep

Hi mama’s. First time mom here. I’m 34 weeks pregnant and wondering when did everyone start drinking raspberry leave tea, eating dates and pumping to help with labor? Midwife gave me the ok to pump at 37 weeks.

I started red raspberry leaf tea at 20 weeks so you can really start that whenever since it doesn’t induce labor it just helps tone your uterus making contractions more effective. I’m planning on starting dates around 36 weeks it’s what I did with my first baby.

35 weeks tomorrow and I started over the last couple weeks with the tea and will start dates soon

I asked my doctor about raspberry leaf tea and eating dates at my appointment this week. She said that’s not going to do anything. 😅

My midwife and doula told me not to start dates and raspberry leaf tea until 36 weeks so I waited until this week personally

34 weeks yesterday and I started the tea and dates Monday. 1 cup a day this week and next, 2 cups a day the following week then 3 cups a day thereafter. I’m attempting 6 dates a day but I’m struggling 🥴

I'm highly skeptical that either of those do anything. I did the fates & the tea my previous pregnancy & had the worst labor/delivery. It didn't do a thing haha. So I'll have a few days in a smoothie starting this week (36weeks) & maybe drink the tea if I have any, but nothing special or religious about it haha

They usually say wait til 36-37 but all it does is soften everything in there which should be happening around that time anyway. Personally the only thing I’ve done is avoid sex in the third trimester because I heard that can get them out and I don’t wanna be the person that happens to 😭😅

I started eating dates this week. Im enjoying it so i eat a lot daily, ill start the pumping next week at 37 and after getting the go ahead from my OB

After 37 weeks for colostrum. 38/39 for the other options. A couple of days before my induction I’m going to do castor oil.
