Gagging is normal, it helps her control her pace and chewing. You can cut to smaller bits
Gagging is good because it prevents them from choking! Look up some videos about gagging vs choking to make you more at ease. I understand the fear! I am in the same boat 😂
i agree with what the mamas above said! gagging is normal and try small pieces of SOFT foods like potatoes, avocados, pees, and bananas if your baby is of age! good luck :))
Gagging is good yes but last time I gave her puffs she projectile vomited everywhere because she was choking and it just freaked me out really bad. I’ll try softer foods and see how they go
Solid starts app shows you how to prepare all foods safely! Gagging is normal and a good sign that baby is learning
@Autumn try bigger pieces first not small let her learn with that.
I was scared too wirh blw. And my baby fake coughs when eating it scares me so much but she just does that from imitating her grandma coughing. But they are smarter eaters than you think. My baby takes the food out her mouth or spits it out if it’s too much. And she spit out a watermelon seed. They’ll get the hang out of it. I used to do purées but she didn’t want to eat them anymore. Try softer foods first like fruits, sweet potato, ripe papaya. Or you can do more textured purée then blw when you’re ready
I was scared too! The most important thing is to understand that gagging (including potential vomiting, coughing, drool, redness) is all normal and part of it - it took me sooo long to be comfortable. I went slowly from purées to more textured like mashed potatoes that were a little lumpier, baby oatmeal (or blended oats), mashed banana, cottage cheese and then got more comfortable from there. You don’t have to go from puree to a bite of steak despite what social media tells you lol
Gagging is normal! She’s got to be exposed to more food for the gag reflex to go away. Try bigger pieces vs small puffs. They have teething sticks they can hold.
