Identical twin boy names! What should we call the other twin?

One of our twins is Alfred (Alfie) and we need to decide on a name for the other twin. My partner is set on Arthur, which I love but I’m worried it’s too matchy for identical twins - what do you think? Other names we are considering are Leonard or Hugo. Any preferences or other name suggestions? Also does Hugo have any cute nicknames? Thanks

@Sam thank you ☺️💕 it’s funny the mum guilt is already starting and I don’t want to somehow traumatise them with names that are too matchy and don’t allow them to individuate from each other easily!

Alfred and Arthur is perfect!! I accidentally cliked Hugo!

I think they sound different when the whole name is pronounced and go really well together but would say don’t shorten Arthur to Artie if you’re going to shorten Alfred to Alfie as these do sound very samey. But Art is lovely!

i love Alfred and& Arthur for twins - i'm not keen on super matchy names for twins, but other than both names beginning with an A, I don't think the names are similar. Alfie & Artie are so cute together and i love both Art and Bear as nicknames for Arthur! and in the future, Alfred could potentially use Freddie/Fred as a nickname if he wanted a name less similar - but again, i don't think they are matchy at all. cute nicknames for Hugo could be - Hughie/Huey or Huggy. a few suggestions: Alfred & Edgar - Alfie & Teddy/Ned Alfred & Angus - Alfie & Gus Alfred & Wilbur - Alfie & Wilbie Alfred & Herbert - Alfie & Herbie/Bertie Alfred & Rafferty - Alfie & Raffy Alfred & Ernest - Alfie & Ernie Alfred & Robin - Alfie & Bobby Alfred & Douglas - Alfie & Dougie Alfred & Sebastian - Alfie & Bash Alfred & Russell - Alfie & Rusty Alfred & Oberon - Alfie & Obie/Ronnie Alfred & Isaac - Alfie & Ike Alfred & Atticus - Alfie & Kit Alfie & Monty Alfie & Ruairi/Rory Alfie & Stanley Alfie & Rhys Alfie & Otis 💙

I think Arthur is a bit to similar, I love Hugo!! Alfie and Hughie also sounds ADORABLE together 🥹🥹 I’m not a fan of siblings that have similar sounding names in general though but especially twins I’d personally want to give them even more distinction but that’s just my opinion ofc, all your options are good!
