My son is 8 months and weighs 22 pounds and the doctor says he is perfectly healthy. We give him purses but he also eats regular food too we share our plates with him all the time. If you’re worried he is eating too much then you can give him the food he wants but in moderation Kind of like a diet but without the strict rules. You can also talk to your PCP and see what they think and they can give you suggestions as well. You could also let him eat what he wants and when he wants but make sure he’s being active as well like maybe enroll him into weeball or something
My first some was just like this. He was 9mo in 24mo clothes. I think about 25lbs. Now he’s almost 2, 32lbs and in 2t clothes. His been in 2t for over a year. He definitely leveled out the eating and the moment he started walking he just shot up, thinned out, and stayed the same weight.
@Megan i honestly hate myself for not getting a photo but it was indeed hilarious! They were laying on the kitchen floor at 2am having the time of their lives. 😭
my baby is 8 months and 20lbs i started baby led weaning at 5 1/2 months. to encourage healthy eating habits I don’t allow any processed snacks teething sticks etc because it’s honestly no nutritional value I offer veggies or fruit as a snack and do 3 meals a day just as I would myself. As I work in a daycare I noticed that most kids that are allowed to eat whenever have a lower milk intake. my baby still takes 6 6-5 oz bottles a day. i truly believe that routine allows babies to succeed but that’s just my opinion and my experience
I would just offer bottles before offering food if you are concerned he isn’t getting enough. Sounds like he is getting exposure to foods which I think is helpful for eating habits :)
I wouldn't restrict how much he could eat in total, but I would focus on fresh fruits and veg and healthy fats and limit processed foods. Just remember everything bright now is new and tastes soooo good. When they are toddlers, they will slow down and get picky. Plus, as someone else mentioned, they aren't walking yet. They will burn more once they start that.
Not helpful — but picturing them sharing a fat ass steak is too funny 😂
