@Janis thank you and one more question do you think kids can be a lesson from God also?
@Jamayah Lesson wouldn’t perhaps be the word I use, but “sanctification,” yes. Having children can teach you and strengthen your character if one looks to God for their growth. Kids are definitely not a punishment from God in any circumstance. That is not the manner in which a child is given. But I could see how a person could view a child that they did not plan as a consequence of their sin… but its Gods intent that matters. The “consequence” is a blessing even if it is a trial in that persons life. Because it produces character, endurance, steadfastness, etc… so the result of the sanctification is still a blessing.
Absolutely!! I consider my baby absolutely a gift from God.
Psalm 139:14 🙏🏾🩵
When I got pregnant( out of wedlock) there is one thing that my pastor said that I will never forget. 1- is not every sexual encounter that will bring a baby so if the baby came is because it was Gods plans and will. 2- He also reminded me, that God knows us before we were born and there’s nothing that happens that is a suprise to God. So yeah I definitely think every baby is a blessings and they every life has a purpose. Looking at King David as one example he wasa an illegitimate son and seemed unworthy to the eyes of men, but out of all his legitimate brothers he was the chosen one.
Yes 100%
@Kadma I’m just wondering, why do you say David was an illegitimate son? There’s no biblical text that states this that I’m aware of. The closest thing I think is a reference to psalm 51 and David saying in sin his mother conceived him, but this is talking about the inherent nature of sin and that from birth, we are conceived in sin. It is part of our very flesh the moment we are born…
Children are a an heritage of the Lord. No matter what.
Yes. God is the author of life. He is the one who opens the womb and gives every human life a soul and that is a gift. It shows how merciful God is despite our sin. He can take sin and turn it into a miracle. However God blessing someone with a baby does NOT endorse the sin or a sinful relationship. It simply means that God has intended that life to be born and has a plan and a purpose for that life. Babies can absolutely change someone’s life and motivate them for the better, so it is a blessing for the parents too but they should turn to God and not continue in their sin.
