My little one does a little but I don’t load the spoon fully and we go slowly.. I think it’s also a way of investigating taste and texture
I spoke to my health visitor about this, she basically said you want to wean as close to 6 months as you can but if baby is showing signs then wean early. I asked about the tongue reflex and she said to try the food and if it’s pushed back out just leave it and try again another day.
I’ve been giving my 5.5 month half a Farley’s rusk every evening for the last week & she loves it. She watches us eat really intently, gets excited seeing food & shows a lot of interest in food. Will introduce other things at 6 months :)
My boy was 6 months on thurs (prem baby) and still pushes food out with his tongue. They are all ready in their own timeline.
I’ve been giving my 5months cow and gate cereal every evening for the past 0ne week and he is not doing too bad.
I started weaning at 22 weeks and my little guy didn’t have a tongue thrust … he’s dealing really well with purées and i was able to make them a bit thicker quite quickly. He is on 2 meals a day… puréed veg in the afternoon and porridge for tea
Ive been giving my little one bits and bobs and he doesnt push it out of his mouth xx
