Honestly it's normal for kids to be hungry. My sister in law just turned 11 and eats more than I do, she's always hungry, wears shoes almost my size and can wear her mom's which are size 6.5-7 in adults, she also weighs about 15-20lbs less than me but she is almost as tall as me and I'm 5'5". Also my daughter that is going to be 2 in June is also constantly eating and hungry all the time even though I feed her the right portions for a 22 month old.
I would hate to think my child was hungry when he went to bed. He often has a banana right before we brush his teeth. Last night he asked for an apple. Kids grow at such a rate, it's very possible she needs the food! As long as it's not junk food then I will always be ok with a snack before bed.
I give my 2 year old a snack in his bed every night before bed. Not only does it keep him calm and make bedtime easy but also give me a piece of mind knowing he at least ate something because sometimes he's really picky and will literally just snack during the day or just won't eat full meals. Really just depends on how he feels I won't force feed him cause I know eventually he will want something.. there's days he'll eat allot throughout the day and snack time before bed is still a thing. It's just our routine
I give my almost two year old a snack before bed sometimes she just wants a Graham cracker sometimes it’s crackers fruit and veggies 🤷♀️
My 3 yr old likes to eat cereal with her dad every night before bed. Idk why a child being hungry would be for attention, sometimes my daughter tries to prolong her bedtime by saying she’s hungry but I’d rather give her a snack just in case then have her go to bed hungry.
Maybe allow her to eat before bed but you limit/control the choices of what she can have? If she doesn’t accept any of your choices maybe she is not really hungry and she is just creating bad food habits or eating/over eating cos she is bored.
So with my son, when it's bedtime his stomach automatically starts hurting & talking saying it's hungry😅 I fell for it the first couple of times then plain out asked him "are you just saying that so you can stay up & not go night night" he told me yes lol. So now 30 minutes before bed I'll ask him if he's hungry bc it's almost bedtime. If he's hungry he can eat food, fruits, & and milk, but those are the only choices. If he doesn't want that, then he's not hungry, just trying to prolong bedtime. Not for attention though lol it's just something a lot of kids do it's normal.
As an adult i need a bedtime snack. Why would I not allow my child one?
If she js hungry she’s hungry… can’t make her go to bed hungry
I give my 20 month old a snack before I brush his teeth at night. This is usually about 10-15 minutes before bedtime. It isn't wise for an adult to eat right before bed because of digestion and hanging onto extra calories. However, for a 5 year old, I don't see a problem with it. If she is hungry, you can't really deny that. A glass of water beforehand could lessen the amount she eats, but that would only really be if you had a problem with her eating too much. So my nonprofessional opinion is that it's fine.
