Hello! I’m 24 weeks pregnant and suffering so badly with constipation - is there anything anyone can recommend that’s safe for me to take?

I would suggest, if not already doing so , plenty of water lots of fibre and fruit and veg , I know it might be difficult but a little walk each day helps me alot welll when pregnant lol ! Also perhaps seek advice from a pharmacist x

Hiya Fibogel is gentle and safe in pregnancy. I take it most days xxx

You can take lactulose (I think that’s how you spell it) whilst pregnant. This was recommended to me by a pharmacist. I tend to take 15ml every day and it has really helped!

Glycerine suppositories are safe in pregnancy- you can buy them from Amazon. I wouldn’t recommend using them every day, but for the really tough days they are amazing x

Prunes and kiwis

Glycerin suppository completely safe, I always have some at home. Even on the morning of my C section I used one to ensure my bowels were clear. After baby I would recommend Laxido sachets, if you plan to breast feed they don’t interfere with anything. Post delivery I have also used suppositories. Also increase your fluid intake, and fibre. Are you getting headaches?

Lactulose from Drs x
