No food

My 11mo still doesn’t eat anything! I’ve been tried since he turned 6mo and we went through a phase where he’d open his mouth but that was short lived. I honestly don’t know what to do - he doesn’t even open his mouth to try the food, let alone get the food in his body. I’ve been to the peads dieting team at hospital and they just said to keep offering - but that’s what I’ve been doing for 5 months!!! I’ve returned back to work and he’s in the care of others and they are always making comments of how much he should be eating - like I don’t already know this!!!!!! I need hope or ideas on what to do? Will this get better or is there something seriously wrong with my child’s health?

My son is the same . He’s started nursery and eats in nursery but wouldn’t eat at home . So I’m literally just winging it and hope he changes

Wow atlesst he eats in nursery that’s really good! My lo won’t eat anything anywhere! The mouth doesn’t even open! If I try feed him, he pushes his face away so fast

Tbh I don’t wanna say the nursery lies and I want to trust them as professionals but I’m in awe when they record he’s ate cos my son will not eat nothing at home , so it’s like magic that they say he eats !!

Do you eat at the same time as him? ...I don't have this problem so I really have no personal experience or advice to give but I'd just eat the same stuff as him put it infront of him no pressure ect and let him watch me eat the same stuff and hope that maybe with perseverance and consistency he'd realise what your supposed to do and copy 🤷‍♀️ xx

Yes we all eat together. I have tried an infinite amount of different ways to get him to eat! Honestly I am mentally exhausted and truly worried about him

Awh I bet you are ....I would say if peadiatritions aren't at the stage where alarm bells are rining, then try not to be yourself but I get that can be difficult ...he is getting all the nutrition he needs right now from the milk he drinks and if he's hitting his milestones and growth ect that's a great sign he's perfectly healthy xx

Mine won't open his mouth for a spoon at all and he pushed it away but I can get him to eat finger food. I find he prefers things that don't have too much flavour, and really likes the melty puffs. I have to offer him one piece at a time otherwise he throws it on the floor xx

Do you allow him to touch the food and try eating by himself? Maybe we won’t eat in the beggining and will just explore the food

Yes have tried finger food! It just gets thrown followed by a tantrum until he’s picked up! Appreciate the ideas guys but I’m very stressed out because I know we’ve tried soooo many things… I’d rather just know there’s a problem and how to overcome said problem?
