@Jennifer thank you so much that's really good to know. Did they adjust quite quickly? How many days were they doing in the beginning?
My little one started couple weeks ago going well, I am not back at work yet I just wanted him to get fully settled before return to work, so he does shorter days, 2 days a week. He is little hit miss with eating tea but it a lot earlier than I feed him, dinner going well. Naps going well mostly but he used to naps when we are out and about.
Mines been going 3 days a week for a month. As already commented he's been ill and is also teething. He eats exactly what i eat so no issues food wise at nursery. His nursery you have to provide food if not eating normal food so I'm glad he is. It took a couple of weeks for him to settle and they changed his key worker as he just simply preferred someone else. They provide a full run down of his day including what he's eaten and how much, drinks amounts for milk and water, naps, nappies, activities with photos and videos. I agree with the above, if you can afford to start earlier then work, do it to get most of the illnesses out the way!
My little girl has been going two days a week since March (she’s with family the other days), she was 7 months old. She absolutely loves it, it worked wonders for her weaning (think being able to see other children eat was a game changer !) she has been ill constantly since then though, it’s been pretty brutal at times … just as she gets over one cold she will immediately start with another, and me and her dad have been catching everything too so going back to work has been exhausting and difficult, but I’m hoping she’ll soon get less ill once the warmer weather comes / her immunity improves
My LB has come on great with weaning at nursery. Not napping though which means he screams constantly when back at home in the evening. We’re starting week 4 this week so i hope it improves.
Following as we are starting our LB next month for 2 days per week. He will be 9.5 months.
Both of my children started at 6 months. They are now 3.5, and 9 months, respectively. They were just fine. They learn to nap there (can take getting used to at first) but they will eventually do it. However, they will constantly get ill for likely the first few months. So if your baby can start before you return to work, that is ideal. Otherwise, you’ll end up like we did with having to constantly juggle work with the children being ill and therefore, not really being able to go to work!! Also top tip: give them something like a bowl of weetabix when they get home before bed. With both of mine, they had been sleeping through and started waking again. Turns out they were hungry and we just needed to top up their food before bedtime. Lots of friends of mine have had similar issues! Xx
