We always get it done for peace of mind. This pregnancy I got the panorama test since it gave us results and gender a few weeks earlier than the nipt but apparently insurance doesn't cover it and I just got a bill for $650 😅 I was told my insurance would be billed. Oh well. But yes, I'd like to know any risks of downs or other problems
We always get it done but mostly because we like knowing the gender early 😅 it’s nice to know the other things as well but it wouldn’t change anything for us. We just like to be prepared
Was there a particular reason it was recommended for you? Are you considered high risk? I didn’t end up doing the NIPT myself- I just had the routine testing done at the 12-week ultrasound. When I wanted to find out the gender, I booked a private reassurance scan at 16 weeks. Everything’s been going smoothly, touch wood! 😊 Do what will bring you the most peace, X
I think most obs recommend it because it's routine, non invasive and just worth just knowing. My OB recommends it to every woman and pregnancy.
I posted about this on here a couple of weeks ago because our midwife recommended to us. I think it’s one of those things they have to inform you on because the nhs tests are only about 80% accurate and I think the nipt is like 99. So I guess it just depends on how you’d feel personally about having a child with any of those things x
I did it with both my kids because 1. I'm impatient and wanted to know the gender ASAP 😂 but 2. If there were abnormalities, I wanted to know to prepare myself. It wouldn't have changed anything for me and we would have loved our children regardless, but it would have given us time to process and maybe get special equipment we would need.
I’m on the fence they won’t tell you gender with it by me, but after a loss it wouldn’t change anything for me but also feel should I have the knowledge. But as it’s a predictor I’m worried it be more stress if it’s inconclusive
The results make a difference to me so I always have the NIPT, plus I like knowing the gender so early. If the results don’t matter to you then it’s pointless
I’ve had it, mainly because I’m inpatient but also peace of mind. And yes it’s definitely reassured me
I didn't do this test because it wouldn't change anything. Unnecessary stress and I would still have my baby and love her 💕
