My daughter had a rash like this and I was being told it’s eczema but it turned out to be a reaction to the milk she was on as she’s got CMPA. Nothing helped apart from going onto a amino acid based formula x
@Julia omg!! i did not think of this at all. from birth she’s always been on aptamil but just the past few weeks she was getting really gassy so i changed her formula to kendamil and since then ive noticed this!!
Yes mine was the same had to go see a private doctor as NHS kept delaying seeing him. He also has CMPA or if ur bf eliminate dairy or u will need a prescribed milk.
@Kay Yeah my daughter had reflux and all the other symptoms such as mucus/constipated nappies, frequent hiccups, constantly uncomfortable and very very sicky. It wasn’t until this rash came about and we ended up in hospital and told the rash was a build up reaction from her previous milks. Might be worth asking for a hydrolysed formula from the doctor and see if that helps as the milk protein is broken down into really small bits that makes it easier for babies digestive system to break down c
My son had the exact same rash and I was given epimax also it didn’t work I ended up switching the products I was using on his skin I was originally using nalas baby and swapped to the mustela soothing range body wash and lotion and then go over it with a light covering of Vaseline to lock in the moisture as I also have eczema and that’s what I do when I have a eczema break out then within a few days the rash disappeared x
@Leah i’m staying away from steroids a lot because my husband when he was a child had eczema and they prescribed him with steroids which spread all over his body but his went away by its self as he got older x
@Pareena thank you!!
@Kay yeah best way to they did the same with me. I’ve not used steroids since using this cream. Best thing I’ve ever used
@Julia i’ve messaged the nurse showing her stomach in just waiting to see what she says or if she can get me into the gp to consult with the doctor. thank you!! x
@Rhyana ive been using nalas baby wash and mustela cleansing water too! she has baby acne in her cheeks as well and i use the cleansing water and the weleda skin food cream which both together are really good! i used the epimax cream on her face as they said it’ll help but it literally bought the acne back again after i cleared it 😭
@Kay on his face I use the cleansing water then mustela stelatopia emollient cream and Vaseline has no steroids just really good for rashes or eczema prone skin and it went within a few days still use it and have had no issues. And for his body mustela soothing body wash and lotion they do also have a mustela stelatopia body wash and lotion which is good for skin dermatitis but I’ve just used to soothing range and it had got rid of it and hasn’t returned since
Vaseline Vaseline Vaseline. Works like magic but be consistent. My LO had the same, it went. Avoid steroids imo. Once you start and stop, it comes back. That too burns/darkens the area. Everyone has their recommendations, keep whatever you're using natural as possible. Dont forget your LO skin is new and adjusting.
@Shahanaz how many time a day do you apply it? x
Try applying 2/3 times a day (dont be shy with it, slug her skin).. or every nappy change... To me it looks like a heat rash atm (both my daughters went through this) but be careful because heat rash can eventually turn in to eczema.. Just keep her cool (ik we tend to think they must be cold.. lets wrap them up etc,)

@Shahanaz thank you!!! see i noticed she’s always warm the last month so she’s always in one vest one baby grow and when i can feel like she’s warmer i just strip her to her vest. x
Yeah till this day when my LO gets hot she ends up with them patches on her stomach just like the picture youve uploaded.. but they eventually go 😊 Just me careful of the sun, avoid direct sunlight when she has Vaseline on as it can burn the skin x Lmk how you get on ☺️

@Shahanaz thank you so much! i’ll try it out and let you know how it goes xx
Hey, for someone with eczema, creams that contain paraffin are the worst ones, they make my skin worse. You need to try something gentle and paraffin free. Aproderm from Amazon is PF, safe from birth, colloidal and oat based. It’s £10 and I’d reslly reccomend it over any cream you get from the drs. Try and stay clear of steroids xx
