Prioritising work

I’m so fed up. My bf used to be work obsessed and sometimes that slips through now. Our daughter needs to see a specialist today because her situation is getting worse. Waiting to hear back from them soon, and all he can say is he needs to go to work. What instead of be there for your daughter who will 100% need both of her parents there because of what they will need to do. I don’t understand how he can still even want to work. His employers already told him he doesn’t have to come in but if he can to come in later after everything is finished and we are home(and if everything is okay of course). I don’t get why that’s all he can think about especially because he could just pick up a shift on the weekend because he has the whole weekend off and he’s already said he doesn’t mind doing so. I feel like we aren’t being supported as much anymore. I’m so frustrated.

Sounds like he’s checked out of your relationship and also family life. He doesn’t even have the excuse of an unsupportive employer so literally he is abandoning you both because he is CHOOSING to do so. If it wasn’t work, he would still have another excuse. Tbh what he’s doing is inexcusable and quite frankly if I were in your shoes I would be giving him an ultimatum. Either you come with us today and sort your priorities out afterwards too, or when you get back from the appointment, you’ll be packing his bags and he can fuck off elsewhere.

Is he scared for your daughter and working is how he copes? Some people need the distraction instead of sitting there just stewing in their thoughts. It's not healthy or fair to your family but could still be an answer

@Sarah no he isn’t, as he told me he believed everything was fine and would be okay. I’d understand if he was like that but he very much isn’t. I just think he’s obsessed with working or enjoys it more than being at home because he knows at home I expect him to help with our daughter as I don’t expect him to help when he is working
