Gp with ADHD

I’ve contacted my gp for my child to get referred for adha and autism and pretty much been told to fuck off I’ve waited all week for a phone call to get a text today saying I should just go to the health visitor and they can deal with it but last time I did , I just got an email with a parenting course they didn’t call me and discuss it , and said SENCO will do it at school but he’s only 3 and a half so not in school and he doesn’t start nursery until September he’s really struggling at the moment with his behaviour and I’m getting no help , with it taking up to 5 years to get an assessment it’s honestly ridiculous

I'm in the same boat as you but im waiting for his assessment for autism which could take 3 years he only 3 and a half he can be out of control and I can't do anything I seem like a fail him at times and it's so upsetting thus system is so shit when you need help

@Sarah understand that 💯 really struggling with his behaviour constant tantrums out of control and no help for either of us , I feel like it’s my fault

Yeah he have alot of tantrums and he chucks his toys and doesn't listen to me he gets upset alot which I know its frustrating but I get frustrated to he is non verbal to but he does understand some things but some times I feel like what can I do am I doing things right . I'm always a message away if you want to talk as I could do with someone in same boat so I don't feel alone x

You need to go via your gp, but ask for the right to choose pathway. Then it basically gets sent privately and will be much quicker than just waiting for the NHS! This page gives you lots of information, different companies you can choose and their general waiting times. https://adhduk.co.uk/right-to-choose/
