Unfortunately, if you make extra money it impacts your SMP. Have you applied for the child benefit? It's not loads but it is a little extra. You've also got up to 10 keeping in touch days with work that is paid for at your normal full rate.

I sold lots of baby bits on Vinted and bought more on Vinted where possible

I’d always pop into charity shops and try to buy something to sell of vinted to help pay for some of the coffees. Best was a £6 north face jacket sold for £40. Kept me occupied anyway!

I’ve just found out one of my jobs I’m not eligible two days out! So that’s cut my money down. But I don’t think they let me just do the odd day. My other job is going to find interim cover so I won’t be needed. Safe to safe I’m in trouble too! I used all my saving and created debt doing Ivf!

@Charls I’m sorry to hear that! Have you looked into maternity allowance? It should cover you if you’re not entitled to SMP?

Thank you yes I have but basically I work two jobs so if hoped to have mat leave for both wihivh would be 500 a month more than one alone or maternity allowance. I’m hoping baby’s dates will change by a few days. I just after so much time and money wanted the most time off and now with that level of money I’ll be in trouble. I got made redundant at Christmas or I’d have never changed jobs by choice. So stressful
