Bedtime books

Okay guys, when i was pregnant I was adamant I was going to read all the time to my son. I won't lie I have been slacking up until the last few weeks because he would just steal books from me and not let me read them. With a recent sleep regression we started doing bedtime stories. I need some new things to read. I would prefer decent length, that'll take maybe 10 minutes or so to read but picture books still. We did the little engine that could tonight and that was just about perfect. I just don't want to keep reading the same book over and over. Any recommendations?

I don't know about books 10 mins in length. I usually let my son pick 2 or 3 books of they are shorter ones. We have tons of books. Some oldies like goodnight moon and corduroy. We also have a slew of random books from animals to seasons to word learning books. Tiger tales is a good publishing company with lots of reads. I always let me son pick which book he wants me to read that way i know he'll pay attention. Last night he picked a book that just lists shapes and colors.

My son loves the little blue book series. Dr Seuss is a favorite. Curious George. Frog and road are all favorites

corduroy

Thank you! I say longer because he doesn't seem to pay any attention to the "shorter" books for some reason

the stinky face books are also some of the longer ones we have

totally get that! some great ones are "the very hungry caterpillar" and "where the wild things are" – they're fun and have nice stories that aren’t too long. also, "goodnight moon" is a classic for bedtime! I actually checked the 'Heal App' for this and here’s what it says: "It's great to hear that you've started incorporating bedtime stories into your routine! Here are two wonderful picture books that are around the 10-minute mark and offer engaging stories: 1. "The Gruffalo" by Julia Donaldson - This delightful tale follows a clever mouse who outsmarts various predators by inventing a fearsome creature called the Gruffalo. The rhymes and illustrations make it captivating for young listeners. 2. "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak - This classic story about Max's adventure to an island of wild creatures is imaginative and beautifully illustrated, making it a perfect read for bedtime.

Head over to your local library and ask the children’s librarian this exact question! They know all the books, you don’t have to buy any, and you’ll find wonderful options. I have found some of my daughter’s favorites this way that we ended up buying.
