Still having problems brushing toddlers teeth

My LO has always been difficult with getting her teeth brushed. We have tried everything and the only way we get some if them brushed is by holding her down. I hold her feet and my other half is at the top attempting to brush! It's a nightmare, she still sucks the toothbrush and won't open her mouth to let us brush. Anyone else experiencing this and any tips?

We tried everything and the current system involves 3 toothbrushes: 2 for her and one for me. I give her one of hers, pretend to brush my teeth with mine, then tell her to brush my teeth. While she's holding her toothbrush and mine, I start brushing her teeth with her second toothbrush. It sounds crazy, I know, but whatever works, right?!.. 🤣 Sometimes she'll start brushing her teeth with my toothbrush and I stick her toothbrush in to help her brush them for real. Crazy system but it works. She's very much into imitating everything and everyone so it works for us. We still get some cries and tantrums, but it's so much better than before. Good luck!

Yes! My little boy will not let me brush his teeth. He closes his mouth tightly shut so I can’t open it. We have tried everything. Health visitor didn’t seem overly concerned when I emailed about it tbh. And just said as long as I am trying and he is trying (he does try and brush them himself) he’s getting the fluoride around his mouth. He’s got the dentist in a few weeks (first time because of cancellations) so I’m going to speak to them there too. X
