Maternity pay UK / Northern Ireland

I’m in Northern Ireland so not sure if it’s different, my job has offered full pay 6 months but after that I’m not sure what is offered or if anything, would it be possible to apply for statutory for the remaining 3-6 months? I’m new to this and don’t know what I’m entitled to I also don’t know where to get my MATB1 🥺 I have no family so don’t know what I’m doing sorry

I am pregnant with my first and I believe the remaining would be statutory, you can get MATB1 from your midwife xx

SMP rates are the same in Northern Ireland as here so you should be getting the 6 months full pay from your employer then you’ll get 3 months statutory government pay. If you take the full year off, the last 3 months are completely unpaid

Ask your midwife for the MATB form, and give this to your employer, you can get it once you’ve had your 20 week scan. You’ll get the 6months full pay from Work (you’re very lucky!) and then once that ends you’ll be entitled to 3months statuary, this should be sorted out by your work when you give them the MATB form. If you wanted to take the extra 3 months this would be unpaid. Unless you work for certain public sector, NHS for example where you can split the maternity pay evenly over the 12months. I would recommend speaking to the HR department at your work to find out exactly how it works with your company and what your entitled too xx

SMP will be included and your work will be topping it up for full pay for that 6 month period. You'll still get SMP for the 3 months afterwards but the last 3 will be unpaid as you can only have SMP for 9 months total. So your 6 months full pay includes SMP, then 3 months of SMP alone = 9 months total.
