100 foods

Anyone working on trying to get their baby to try 100 foods before 1? My babygirl started purees at 4 months, then solids at 6 months, but she started getting this blotchy red rash on her face sometimes even on foods that she hadn’t before so it kinda made us take a bit of a backseat on trying a lot of new foods. Now that we think we nailed down the cause of the rash we are back at trying to do 100 foods. She’s just a week past 9 months so we have just a little under 3 months to go. I grew up a picky eater and as an adult has worked on it. So I am hoping to not make my daughter a picky eater. So far the only thing she really didn’t like was broccoli.

We’re doing it! She’ll be 9 months next week and we just hit 75 foods!

I did 100 before 9 months! If you need help, let me know

@Soraya that’s awesome! We are at 30! But the bright red blotchy rash really put a damper on trying a lot since we had no idea the cause. I’m so happy that it has been confirmed by several pediatricians now that it isn’t concerning and to just her eat!

@Mayra how did you do trying nuts? I guess that would be my big question. She loves bread so was thinking thinly on bread but then I am worried it’ll stick to the rough of her mouth. That and rice!! I don’t like what the solid starts app suggests for that

@Kristina one idea is to put peanut butter into something like pancakes!

@Soraya oh, that is a good idea! She likes her banana pancakes

Me! We are at 9.5 months and 75 foods!

Is it bad that I stopped keeping track? Like I keep track if it's a new food or not, but idk number :/

@Moira haha not at all! I just started making a list to keep track/reference if I need to!

@Kristina I have a basic list, but 9 chances out of 10 she gets part of my food (like hamburger helper or some shit) and that makes it hard to track

@Kristina depend of the nuts. For example, peanut, I got the powder and mixed with the food. You can always put in the blender and mix, but need to be quickly since if you keep too long, it will change in butter. Also you can mix the butter with the fruits. I always pass the butter in her skin first for see if she has any reaction, and a few hours later I offer the nut

@Kristina and the rice, you can overcook than or do use the sushi rice and mix with some pasty food

@Kristina I put a thin layer of peanut butter on a pancake for my son.

Question: How did everyone start their little one on solids? My son will be 10 months in 2 weeks and I am scared to start solids. I have not been keeping track of the number of foods we have tried

@Janay outside of purees, I started with yogurt melts and teether wafers since the melted... then just various soft foods, mainly little pieces of noodles from whatever I was eating... eventually scrambled eggs... now I give her whatever I eat mainly because she has the idea of chewing down
