Newborn trenches

do you guys miss your little ones being a newborn? I think my newborn trenches had to be the most peaceful chapter of my life & it all felt like a dream tbh. The thing that made it the trenches personally as a first time mom was trying to sleep with she slept & get everything done while she was sleeping like showering & eating & cleaning up & doing laundry. most of that time she would be sleeping in my arms or on me so it was hard lol. Also the hormones being all wonky messed me up mentally & the start of PPD. this is a pic of my girl as a newborn! tell y’all’s experiences of the newborn phase or trenches & see if we can relate to each other ❤️‍🩹!

I agree with you about it being a peaceful time. Honestly, my maternity leave was the best time of my life. We just snuggled all day every day. I miss it so much

@Kelsi I miss it so much now she is wanting to be on the move & explore things! I have baby fever when I already have a baby & I tell myself no no no lol! & maternity leave probably was the best time nobody bothering me abt work & I just got to spend my time being a mommy!

I truly miss it so much!

I keep asking my husband for another one so I completely understand! We agreed to wait until she hits 1 though

💀 I'm gonna be honest I only miss it a little. what sticks out the most for me from that time was sobbing next to my son's crib and begging God to let him sleep so I could, too. happened more than once. was so tired I cried every day. now he's a super happy baby and really interacts with me and shows his own personality! and only wakes up a couple times a night 😂

also. that is one cute and cozy baby

@Kelsi sometimes I tell myself if I want 2 under 2 or wait a little bit longer!

@Finn I understand not everyday was all sweet & innocent i remember one time my daughter & so stared at each other for hours til she fell asleep lol.

My baby slept well as a newborn but I love this phase way more! I’m totally seeing his little personality and he’s all smiles and giggles. He barely smiled under 2 months though lol

@Hokulani I turned 34 a few days ago so I feel that bio clock a ticking so we are going to try fairly soon. But I’m sure it will be wild up in here 😂

@Hanah N. Oh yes the personality coming out & then me realizing I made a mini me 😂!

@Kelsi her dad says that a 4 year age gap is good which him & his sister are 4 years apart & one of my sisters & I are 4 years apart BUT I feel like I would be sending her to school then starting all over lol! I am only 23 so I feel that I have some time but I want to be done having babies by 30!

I really hated the newborn phase… I had an emergency c-section and was in so much pain and so vulnerable about my body and it was hard to get up out of bed to attend my baby who needed me…. I cried so much cause I was missing out on all the fun newborn things. I couldn’t figure out breastfeeding cause my incision pain was so severe so that made me feel more of a failure as a new first time mom. Newborn phase was a dark time for me, and I’m sad I missed it all…. I’m dying to have another one so I can experience it again but idk when that will be. We go back and forth on when that will be. My bd and I are going through a lot rn like our relationship. Feels like we both can’t just catch a break.

@Hokulani you have plenty of time then! But I understand the feeling of starting over. My oldest is 13 lol my best friend has a 2.5 age gap and I think that is honestly perfect. They now play together and are best friends but only one in diapers!

@Kelsi omg yes you definitely started over lol! You’ll be dealing with a teenager & a toddler here soon!

@Maddie I am sorry to hear that! every child you have will be a different experience! I hope you’re experiencing a good phase with where she is now with the laughs & smiles & personality!

I miss it so so much my girl is almost 2 now and soo much has changed but we’re about to have another newborn soon which is exciting but it’ll be different to last time too being out second

@Hokulani thanks love! Oh yes, she’s about to be five months next week and I’m having so much fun with her. She is starting to show her a little personality and is babbling/talking all the time and just this week she started to show signs of wanting to crawl!!

It's really the easiest I think. Yeah they eat and poop every hour or couple hours but still easy. We traveled a lot when our first was a newborn, like I drove alone 10 hr straight once a week, staying at hotels for work. Nothing I could have done with a child 5mo+. About to have a newborn when out first turns 2 so I'm excited to do it again ❤️
