Itchy feet/hands

So I’ve had bloods today because I’ve had really itchy feet and hands, and now my chest is super itchy too. It was mentioned that it could be linked to my liver and if so I’d be induced at 38 weeks (next week!) - has anyone experienced this - either and issue that’s caused the itching or just itching with no issue?

Same here I have issues in liver but they are inducing me at 39

I’d call your maternity ward as there’s something that it can be that’s quite dangerous for you and baby.

I’ve got this and I’m getting induced on this coming Wednesday at 39 weeks. It’s called Intrahepatic Cholestasis, nothing to worry about if you do have it, it just means there’s a build up of bile in your bloodstream which makes you very itchy. I’m getting induced because my itching had gotten too much for me and there’s nothing they can prescribe me to help ease it, literally have scratches on my hands and feet. Once baby is delivered it completely stops and your liver turns back to normal and the itchiness goes away. I had to have my bloods done every week to monitor the bile levels in my blood once they reached a certain number they said they’d have to book me in for an induction, which is what happened this week. I had a liver scan to confirm I had IC around 35 weeks. Please don’t be worried about it as most times you won’t need to be induced as it just depends on the levels in your bloodstream. @Rupi you are life saver I have also come across same situation and they will Induce me at 39 weeks. I was too much worried about it but now feeling bit relaxed

@Ooshita no worries! I’ve been hearing a lot of people say so many bad things about it but after talking to my consultant and midwife’s I’ve been put at ease. It only causes issues to baby if left undiagnosed and that’s not in many cases at all as the itching is such a big symptom! I hope you have a smooth induction and all goes well 🥰

@Ash I already did on Wednesday, I saw my midwife today and she took bloods, waiting on the results :)

Following as I also had bloods done today for this same thing. The itching all over is driving me insane and worse at night. My hands and feet were awful last night. Waiting to hear back on bloods. 37+5 and so over this now.

@Rebecca it’s horrendous isn’t it! Just can’t get comfy at all or sleep with it!
