Registry Vent

So I made my registry for the baby shower starting in November and it's been done for a while now. It's been tied to the event page and sent to everyone, including those who specifically asked for the registry link, and our shower is now 8 days away. Not a single item has been purchased and almost everyone we invited has been asking me for directions, saying how excited they are to go, etc. is it terrible of me to be upset over this? I just feel like I put in so much time and effort for nothing if I was just going to have to get everything myself. Maybe I'm overreacting and just need outside perspective. I'm a first time mom so is this normal? Do people just completely ignore the registry and that's expected?

Half of the people at my baby shower (was mixed family and friends) ignored the registry. But for those who didn't, they only started buying things off the registry basically the week before the shower. In the end tho i basically received everything i needed.. just a few things off my registry i had to get cause i really wanted

Did you make your registry in Babylist? Sometimes, what happens there is that people go to the other store and forget to come back and mark as purchased. You may end up with repeats. If you didn't make it there, well....not sure why people are so lazy and want to have a mind on their own. I understand your frustration. But as someone else said, you will appreciate everything and everything will be cute.

I only had like 3 people but off my registry with my son. Others got stuff similar to what I wanted from stores and then some just got what they liked. I ended up with a lot more than I was expecting and only had to buy a few things afterwards that I didn’t get. I’m now pregnant with my second and was given so much that I only need a few things and I’m done. With my registry I mainly use it as a check list of what I’ve gotten and still need which is so helpful lol

Okay I'm feeling better about this. I was really nervous because right now money is tight and I'm just scared I won't be able to get things for baby myself 🥲🥹
