How do you know that you are 2cm dilated?

I am 38 today and no such signs only white discharge waiting desperately now

I was checked at my maternity assessment unit over a week ago and was 1cm. I then ended up admitted this week for pain management and monitoring to see if anything would progress but it didn’t, we just got to 2cm dilated 😮‍💨 It’s so frustrating this waiting game. My mucus plug has been coming out so quickly the past few days, but white/clear so no bloody show yet 🥺

THE WHITE/CLEAR DISCHARGE IS PART OF THE MUCUS PLUG???? Why am I just learning this now 😭😭 ok well past 2 nights I’ve had extreme pain and tightening but not regular contractions (39 weeks), thought last night was gonna be it but nope. I’ve had the clear/white discharge for a week now. Ordered raspberry leaf tea which will be here tomorrow so gonna Inhale that and see what happens 😭😭 praying for us all rn

@Kayleigh I am also getting alot of white discharge I got myself checked up last week they said no water breaks and didnot told me anything about dilation. Do I need to ask them to check if I am dilated or not? I am doing exercise and trying to be active as much as I can

@Robyn the thick, jelly like snot stuff? 👀 yeah it’s your mucus plug!! I hate to break it to you but I’ve been drinking raspberry leaf tea and pineapple juice religiously for a week now and nothing! 😭 you’re further along than me so I’ll pray for a miracle for you! 😂

@Ooshita oh how weird! Have you got badger notes? If you go to the ‘antenatal care summary’ section and click on the notes for the day you got checked it might say there? They should document it all so it should be on there! The reason my cervix was checked was because of the contractions, but if they checked your waters I’m surprised they didn’t check your cervix too. I wouldn’t worry too much about asking them to check for dilation, it’s something that will be monitored by the midwife from this point anyway. Have you got a 38 week appointment with your midwife coming up? It’s worth asking them to check if you’re curious ☺️

@Kayleigh yes I am going on wednesday so I will definitely ask them now as today I got white discharge two times which was more of thick than usual. They just tested for my water breaks and said it is negative and said nothing about my dilation. This is my first pregnancy so I had no idea if I should ask them but now I will ask

@Ooshita oh bless you, yeah definitely ask them! They’ve always told me about my cervix if they’re down there anyway, but if they tested your waters I’m surprised they didn’t check your cervix too. They might have done but just not mentioned it, which means it was probably closed at the time. Definitely see if your midwife can check though, most of them offer to check at the 38 week appointment but don’t be scared to ask to be checked ☺️

@Kayleigh oh my god please pray for me 😭😭😭 I’m so tempted to drink the entire box tomorrow don’t even 😭😭 I’m booked for induction on the 9th of may (due the 5th) and I just pray I can go before then omfg xx

At 35 weeks and when they checked at a 33wks 5 days I was 2 dilated and had been contraction a lot for about a week. I lost plug too. I’m so very sore and exhausted now. I’m 35 weeks now x

Ok wow - so I'm Not the only one / I'm 38 + 3 :: I am walking around : drinking tea / dates pineapples: I'm yet to have sex then I think we there I have done every single thing :: I do not want to be induced so the next couple of days / is the military

@Roseline oh girl, we’re here together! I’ve been doing the same, pineapple juice, fresh pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, yoga ball, curb walking… I haven’t tried sex yet either because I’m so uncomfortable 😂 I keep thinking this is going to be it then nothing happens!
