I am torn as to what would be best for my child, I know there are pros and cons to both. Can I please hear your experience? One problem would be I teach 30 mins away so I would need to sort childcare before and after school if I sent my child to a local school and not the one I teach at. Please can I hear your views?
When do we sign up for nursery
Our 3yo is at nursery 4 days a week and gets 15h funded. From January she will be eligible for 30h. Does anyone know whether I have to apply for a new code? I asked the nursery and they said if they need anything they will ask, but they are really disorganised and tbh I don’t trust them when they say that!
for those taking care of two kids around these ages, how do you do it? my husband goes back to work next week. i work part time and am off for a few more weeks, and will take care of both kids full time until then. im nervous… how are you all integrating your kids’ routines/schedules? naps? breastfeeding? activities?
Hi mama’s! Im not a traditional SAHM, I’m a little more structured, and a little on the bougie side. Im definitely more scrunchy than crunchy. I like going on fun outings with my 3yo son all over, whether it’s 15 minutes away or an hour. It’s been hard finding familiars here, it seems like most homeschool moms I r...
When did you or are you planning to visit nurseries? I’ve started looking round but then became aware of the amount of children that have coughs and colds in the nurseries and started worrying that I was exposing my newborn to potential illness. I suffer from Perinatal OCD and wondering if my worries are normal or i...
My 2 year old has just started nursery and is struggling with the drops offs & being apart , when & does this get any better 🤞🏻
hi! so i’m applying for universal credit as i’ve decided not to go back to work after finding out i’m pregnant again 8 months postpartum. the whole idea of universal credit seems overwhelming and i was wondering if any mamas could share their experiences or just explain to me how the process and appointments work. f...
My daughter is 2 and loves her nursery. The staff love her, we’ve only had one or two minor issues in the 12 months she’s been going there. But oh my god is it expensive! We could just about afford it when we enrolled her, and there’s annual increases as expected. We had notice last month that fees will increase ag...
Tax free childcare schemes that are NOT the government one … Sorry, boring question. My work is part of the Enjoy Benefits Workplace Nursery Scheme which enables nursery fees to be paid via salary sacrifice. The tax savings as a result are larger than the savings you get when just using the government tax free chi...
Hi anyone of you knows what is CAMS? In what cases children needs to be referred to that? After referral, what happens at CAMS?
If we already claim the 15 hours free childcare, do we need to do anything else to claim for the 30 hours in January? Do we need a new code? My next reconfirmation opens in a couple of weeks, is that all we need to do?
Am I crazy but is $2100 a month for diaper changes, feedings and naps just a little too much? Don’t get me wrong, I love the peace of mind that my baby is safe and well cared for and he’s makes lots of friends but they’re taking all my coins. I’ve tried the family daycares and I have cried more than once because o...
More info: trying to help out a friend who is a single dad, works full time so needs care from 7-5ish for the whole week. His daughter is 6 months old, I’m a sahm with my own two kids and idk what a reasonable price would be that would make it worth my time but also be low enough to help him out.
Hiya! So the age gap between my middle n last is nearly 10years so its been a while and im slightly confused. For some crazy reason i thought now my boy is 3, i can start applying to nursery for next september. At the mo hes with a childminder while i work and she brings him on trips and playgroups etc and im no...
When my mat leave ends I need to find some child care for 2/3 days a week for my lg. Which would be better?
I’m doing some research and want to see if I can afford to go back to work. Right now my husband is covering everything financially but I know he is struggling. I have some supply work/potentially long term teaching roles coming my way, but I’m wondering if I can even afford it and if everything will just end up pay...

Is anyone having a nightmare applying for funded childcare? I've had nothing through, it's been over a month since I applied. Any guidance from those that have been successful would be so appreciated, I'm worried I'm running out of time for January.
