I am entitled to EMP however I do not want to return to work after mat leave so will have to pay this back. Can I opt for SMP instead or are you not allowed that option? Pay after SMP finishes

So I've decided to take 12 months maternity off instead of 9 and that's by choice, so 3 months without any pay and I know this is probably a no but I thought I would check just in case I was entitled to any benefits in those 3 months before I return to work? Thanks
