We found this and decided to change car seats at about 3.5 months as he looked so uncomfortable. When he’d cry in the car seat he’d get super sweaty as his head was so restricted and I was paranoid he’d overheat if I couldn’t stop the car. It also seemed like a small seat in general it was pulling between his legs x
We have this ours is 5 months too we’ve taken all the inserts out about a month ago and he seems so much happier but I don’t think he’s going to be in it much longer he still looks a bit too snug bless him x
@Anna please which car seat did you change to? As also looking for new one as LO crying in hers and seems uncomfortable
@Mila we have the JOIE 360 spin x
We had this car seat (little one is 12m now) and she grew out of it at 10 months. The head insert definitely can’t be removed. They will outgrow at 75cm I posted on Car Seat safety UK on Facebook a pic when I thought it was outgrown and they confirmed it. We have now got an Axkid One 2 and it’s tons better!
@Rebecca we removed our head insert and he much prefers it he does have a massive head though at 5 months 🤣💙 the other car seat looks great!
@Katie hmm, Joie says the seat is unsafe without the head insert though and it cannot be removed… I would highly recommend Car Seat Safety UK and they can advise about the fit but it’s definitely not supposed to have the insert out x
@Rebecca oh how strange as it’s just Velcro through the hole (if that makes sense 🤣) that’s a bit worrying though if it’s not meant to come out but honestly his head will not fit in it with it still in bless him xx
@Katie yeah Joie said it’s so you can remove to wash and clean it! Apparently they are okay with their head on top of the insert (as in using it like a pillow rather than wedged between it if that makes sense) however once their shoulders no longer fit under it, or they are 75cm then it’s outgrown. My daughters head wasn’t properly in it for a couple of months before we upgraded but when her shoulders wouldn’t fit anymore that was the knowing sign xx
@Rebecca I see! Thank you I will look into it and by the sounds of it out it back in 🤦🏻♀️ xx
